Cut Grass is a free mobile puzzle game created by developer Beakbestow. In this casual title, players will be tasked with cutting grass that is laid out in unique patterns, all in one go. This is so that various types of flowers and vegetation can grow in their place.
Just like with Everdale or Pikmin Bloom, Cut Grass aims to provide fun and relaxing gameplay while still having a little bit of challenge and requiring some thinking and planning from players to progress. How is it played?
Cut Grass is essentially what you get when you combine a lawn cutting simulator and a puzzler together. You have a simple and relaxing game that you can casually play whenever you feel like it. In it, you take control of a blade-like object, and it is your job to guide it as it cuts grass in uniquely laid out patterns that you need to figure out and solve.
There is a point to all of it in the game. You cut grass and clear the way so that you can grow flowers of different kinds and colors in their place. The control scheme is equally simple to learn and get used to as it you just need to swipe in the direction that you want your blade to go.
What's more, it lets you unlock various blade types to help you mow down grass in style. Also, it boasts a seemingly infinite amount of levels for you to play through. Now, being free-to-play, the appearance of ads is to be expected. However, its frequency and intrusiveness doesn't do it any favors and detract from the overall experience of playing an otherwise fun and relaxing game.
A Zen-like grass cutting experience
Cut Grass is one of those games that benefit from being so simple and uncomplicated. The nature of its gameplay lends itself well to the fun and relaxing experience that it tries to offer players. It looks nice, easy to play, and in some sense, is rather Zen-like. A nice option to consider for casual game sessions. Recommended.
